Registration for 2011 is now open!
Please make sure if you want to register as an Ambassador that you are serious about keeping your
committment and not quitting the event. Below you will find what is expected as an Ambassador.
1. Becoming an MJ Ambassador
In order to register your city and yourself as the Ambassador of that city you will need to speak with our Ambassador Affairs officer via live chat or phone. This should take place BEFORE you register. You'll need to email the officer and schedule a time to speak with her. Our reason for this, is that we want to make sure you are committed and really want to do this. So far there haven't been any objections. It's a short call or chat. No big deal.
If you feel comfortable with that, then please read the following. Below you will find the other requirements for becoming an Ambassador for MJWorldCry
Each Ambassador is responsible for the required items for the vigil:
- Having a copy of the song "Cry" by Michael Jackson
- A way to play the song (radio,MP3, iPOD etc)
- Making sure everyone has a vigil candle ( you can buy them or let others know to bring one of their own)
- 1 picture of your group during the vigil
- 1 picture of your group doing a good deed
- Head count of your group turned in after the vigil
2. Good Deeds
Each group is required to do a good deed. Keeping Michael's giving spirit alive.
Examples include but are not limited to:
- Donations of food to a homeless shelter
- Volunteering at a retirement center
- Mowing a lawn for free
- Clothes drive amongst your group- for the salvation army etc
- Planting a tree
- Anything that you can think of
YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 18 Years of age or older to register a city and be an ambassador. It's better if you are not currently a student.
Although this event and recruiting people from your city does NOT
take that much time or effort it's been our experience that students drop their committment to the event due to school studies etc.
Ready to become an Ambassador? If you can handle the above then here's your last step:
1. Send an email with "Potential Ambassador" in the subject line to
mailto:
info@mjworldcry.com
2. In that email make sure to include your name, phone number, and best time to reach you.
3.Ambassadors that participated in 2010 and actually turned in pictures/videos please send an email if you are interested in re-registering your city.
